Surface Performance Ltd is a UK-based testing laboratory accredited by UKAS to ISO/IEC 17025. Our published scope of accreditation (Schedule 7933) covers pendulum slip resistance testing under BS 7976 and BS EN 16165 Annex C, alongside accredited testing methods for sports surfaces under FA, FIFA, World Rugby, FIH and ITF protocols.
We have been operating since 2012, with offices in Sunbury-on-Thames and a permanent operations base serving the East Midlands, the Thames Valley, the Cotswolds, the Chilterns and Greater London. Our slip testing business covers most of the United Kingdom and Ireland, with regular work in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and the Republic of Ireland.
Accreditation. We are one of a relatively small number of testing bodies in the UK with full UKAS accreditation for pendulum slip testing. UKAS accreditation is what gives our reports their evidential weight in courts, with insurers, and with HSE inspectors.
Independence. We do not sell anti-slip products, coatings, mats, or treatments. Our only deliverable is the test report itself. That independence is what makes our reports stand up under cross-examination — there is no commercial incentive for us to find a problem where there isn't one.
Speed. Reports are typically delivered within 48 hours of site attendance. Urgent same-day reports can be arranged where genuinely required, particularly for post-incident response and expert witness work running to a court timetable.
Reach. Our field team operates a planned weekly schedule across the UK, which keeps our mobilisation costs proportionate and our pricing competitive even for sites in less central locations.
Our slip testing clients include national retail estates, NHS Trusts, county and unitary councils, hospitality groups, education estates, insurers, claims handlers, defendant solicitors, claimant solicitors, contractors, architects, and individual occupiers.
For some clients we run multi-year framework agreements with annual or semi-annual testing programmes. For others we attend on an as-needed basis for one-off compliance, post-incident, or expert work. Both models are equally well supported.
